“The world belongs to the askers”
In finance, it is very difficult to separate a product from the face behind it. The visionaries that spearhead a product are the ones that determine the product’s success. If you have heard of Branch, Rose Muturi is the face to connect with.

Rose serves as the Managing Director at Branch International, East Africa. In her role, she leads the charge in establishing and overseeing operations for the region’s first digital bank.
Branch’s innovative approach transforms traditional banking by providing financial services exclusively through a mobile application, eliminating the need for physical branches.

In 2021, Rose was ranked as the number one CEO in Kenya and 28th in Africa by the prestigious Institut Choiseul, a recognition that solidified her leadership in the business world. At that time, she was working at HF Group.

In March 2022, Branch made a bold move that shook up Kenya’s financial sector. It became the first fintech company to acquire a bank in Kenya, buying an 84.89% stake in Century Microfinance Bank (MFB). Century had been a small player, primarily serving farmers with only two branches and about 26,000 customers.

Fast forward to a year later, while the microfinance sector in Kenya faced significant losses in 2023, with total losses jumping to Ksh 2.4 billion from Ksh 980 million in 2022, Branch, under CEO Rose Muturi, was one of the few MFBs to turn a profit…..and in fact the most profitable!

As a leading Microfinance Bank in Kenya, Branch is very much interested in pushing the economic empowerment agenda. As such, we are honored to have Branch as one of the key sponsors of the 4th Abojani Economic Empowerment Conference.

Rose Muturi will come in as a Panelist on the panel discussion: Investment Tools & Skills For Building a Resilient Portfolio.
